Zero commissions. Student-run. All the yum, all the fun!
AnimoEats is a student-run food ordering platform built for the Taft community cluster. We support the MSMEs, small chains, and long-time identity-built places that students already know and love. Your go-to lugawan, the siomai place you swear by, the cafes that have been here longer than any of us. Order ahead, skip the line, and keep your money in the neighborhood.
AnimoEats started as a project in fulfillment of an economics capstone guided by Dr. Madeleine Estabillo and Dr. Jason Alinsunurin.
Big platforms like GrabFood charge merchants 25-30% commissions on every order. That cost gets passed to you through higher menu prices. But it gets worse: those commissions don't just fund food delivery. They subsidize ride-hailing, parcel logistics, fintech, and other verticals that have nothing to do with your meal. Merchants and students pay for business lines they never use.
Riders suffer too. They're dispatched across entire cities, spending time and fuel traveling to non-dominant areas with few orders. They still need to get paid for that travel, so delivery fees stay high, even when your food is only a few blocks away.
AnimoEats fixes this by staying hyper-local. No cross-city rides, no subsidizing unrelated businesses. Just your neighborhood vendors, a few minutes away, at honest prices.
